How the Amazon UK FBA estimate works
The calculator sorts your packaged measurements from longest to shortest, selects a size tier, then applies the appropriate weight rule. It adds category referral fees and the selected Amazon charges before subtracting your effective costs from revenue.
Which weight does Amazon use?
Standard parcels normally use the greater of actual and dimensional weight. Dimensional weight is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 5,000. Envelopes, Low-Price FBA and selected category parcels use actual weight. Oversize tiers have their own limits.
Does this include Low-Price FBA?
Yes. The engine checks the applicable £20 or £10 price ceiling and the published low-price size and weight brackets. Outside those brackets, the appropriate standard tier is used.
What happens during the festive season?
A sale date from 15 October 2026 through 14 January 2027 selects the published peak rates where applicable. Low-Price FBA and apparel exemptions are handled separately. From 15 January 2027, the calculator returns to the stored normal rates. Future Amazon fee changes require a separate rate update.
Can I calculate oversized products?
Yes. Oversize tiers and heavy/special-oversize referral minimums are included. Small-oversize increments differ between the base and festive tables, so that tier displays a verification note. You can override fulfilment with a VAT-exclusive estimate from Amazon, including fuel, peak and battery charges. Digital services fees remain separate.
How should I enter VAT and costs?
Enter the VAT-inclusive customer price. For normal VAT accounting, select your product VAT rate and indicate whether fee VAT is fully recoverable. Product and extra costs should already reflect any VAT you can recover. Special VAT schemes and cross-border transactions require separate treatment.
Are storage, advertising and returns included?
Only if you enter them in Extra costs per unit. Divide the relevant cost across expected sales using your own estimate. Monthly subscription allocation is optional; entering zero monthly units excludes it.
